Therapist Lauryn Jackson LPC Associate

Lauryn Jackson

Hi, my name is Lauryn Jackson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Cary Scott, LPC-S. I have two questions for you. Are you looking to free your mind of thoughts that burden you day to day? AND Are you ready to start living the life you want to live?

If your answer is yes then we need to talk! My goal is to empower you with the confidence to be the author of your story; to own your truth and to live joyfully in that truth. You have the power to determine whether this moment, past moments, or even future moments will be a chapter or merely a page in your book of life. Together we can define your story one word at time so that you can feel empowered to live your life to the fullest.

My professional story began at Midwestern State University where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication. My experiences there led me to work for a corporate company where I was given the opportunity to orchestrate charitable events. Learning that I had a heart for service propelled me to education where I taught English and Reading for 5 years. The relationships I built with my students and families served as a catalyst to my purpose. My desire to develop meaningful relationships with my students and their families initiated my career as a Restorative Practices Coordinator. Restorative practices utilize the science of relationship building to achieve a desired outcome. My purpose in that role quickly became my passion because it led me to pursuing my Master's degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. After graduating, I served as a high school student support counselor Now, as I enter my 10th year in education, I continue to serve as an elementary school counselor as well as being a therapist at Cary Scott Counseling. It became important to not just build relational capacity with my students and their families, but also to accompany them on their journeys to peace, health, restoration and academic success.

Because of my background in public education, I understand the need for safety in order to build the skills to self-advocate, build confidence, and feel empowered.  I establish therapeutic relationships that provide people with a safe place to be themselves and unpack the challenges of their life.

My therapeutic approach centers around establishing a strong relationship built on trust and respect and utilizes techniques from Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral and Narrative Therapy. I look forward to helping you uncover your true potential and living a life worth celebrating. It is a motto of mine that we may not be able to change the hand that we have been dealt, but we can still play to win. Let’s get started!
